I'd been told about Ornsby from a few friends and decided to start my journey there. I was fortunate enough to have Jo Woodrow train me up and take me through my basic handling. She was very knowledgeable and made it an awesome experience for me! Was great to have someone with a great sense of humor and passion for what she does. I recommend Jo to anyone that's looking to start training up to ride a motorcycle, She made it a breeze and I learned so much in a few hours! Even managed to get my learners today!!! Ornsby Motorcycle Training is superb! I did a BHS with Wayne and the urban commuter with Jo. They were both professional, approachable, excellent and friendly. I learned heaps with both of them. I'm planning on taking all the courses these guys run as my skills are drastically improved with each session. Thanks guys!

Such a fantastic team! Highly recommend. I have really improved my riding through attending the Ornsby track & cornering courses, plus the Ride Forever courses are great too and great value for money.

I did the bronze ride forever course on Sunday with Wayne.The course was fantastic and I learnt a lot from it.Wayne was awesome, he has a great way of engaging with the students with his knowledge and sense of humour.I will be back for a one on one lesson before I do my restricted.Highly recommend Ornsby motorcycle training.

If it were possible to give 1000 starts I would give it to the instructor Jo, she was incredible with me, very patient and tolerant... English is my second language and sometimes when I'm under pressure I struggle to understand, well she made it so easy all the time, and always with a smile, simply the best instructor in NZ.🙌🏻

Silver rider training. Fantastic day out with a great group of fellow riders. Wayne was great at relaying good safe riding practices while still enjoying a great ride! Highly recommended.

She has the perfect combination of motorcycle and interpersonal skills to put you at ease on the course, quickly learn where your strengths and weaknesses are, and to provide you with the best level of personalised instruction to help you complete the course. Her direction and encouragement gave me exactly what I needed to pass a test that I originally thought I was another lesson or two away from completing. Thank you, Jo. Definitely worth going for Gold Course. I wish I would go earlier.

I was a little nervous about doing this course but i couldn’t rate it more highly - I rode away with so much more confidence and knowledge - Clive was such a great teacher and motivator - he shared his experience in a way that works - I am now really motivated to work towards the next step of my restricted through Ornsby - you are not too old or too young or know enough to book in for these courses

Extremely helpful when having to change scheduling. Expert motorcycle tuition. Confidence in progression through licenses. Highly recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed and benefitted from Eddie’s style of coaching. He explained and demonstrated things so well and was incredibly patient and structured in his approach. I really felt he was invested in helping me become a safe rider. He proved that you can teach an old dog new tricks. My journey of getting my bhst certification was amazing and it couldn't have been better with the help of Eddie! I was starting from the very start and he explained everything to each detail and showed me how to get moving within minutes, I recently passed my bhst and can't wait to come back!

I’ve done five ACC Ride Forever courses (2x Bronze, 1x Silver & 2x Gold) with Jared, Wayne, Clive & Dan - all excellent instructors who have helped me progress as a rider with useful theory and practical feedback. Did a bronze course in greymouth with Dan on the Sunday and restricted license the next day, Dan is a very good instructor aswell as a license tester, very knowledgeable and more than happy to help build confidence, showing correct and safer ways of riding, definitely recommend ornsby if you are wanting to learn how to ride a motorcycle, I look forward to getting my full license, thankyou.

I attended a ride forever silver course and completed my 6F test. The instructor kept things light hearted and entertaining, keeping class work engaging. The direct feedback he provided to me during our ride was great and significantly helped me improve my riding style and ability. Highly recommend this company.

Matt has been awesome to do the practice and test with and shared helpful tips and tricks with me even after the lesson was finished. Definitely got value for money. And already before the day I felt well looked after on the phone by the office lady explaining the prosedure and answering all my questions. Can only recommend.Thanks again Matt. Really enjoy their ride forever courses, would do again... (done 3 already)Always a good day and pick up some valuable skills, which have helped prevent an accident while riding more than once, and often find myself being more aware in the car as well

Eddie was a good teacher. As the Bronze is aimed at a learner going for restricted I got a lot out of the day and most of it has sunk in and that's saying something haha. Going for my Restricted in 2 weeks and with a lot more confidence. Thanks again.

Did the bronze ride forever course this week with Wayne. It was amazing. He's a highly skilled rider and has excellent teaching skills. I already feel way more confident and safe on my bike and it definitely helped me pass my Restricted CBTA 3 days later. Thanks Wayne!

I did my basic skills handling test with Matt in Wanaka a few months ago and just did my Bronze Ride Forever with Wayne in Christchurch yesterday. Both really great instructors and good experiences, the Ride Forever course in particular was awesome fun and I learnt loads! Looking forward to sitting my Restricted with you guys soon. I’ve had the pleasure of having a few training sessions with Clive, Wayne and Steve, I was extremely nervous especially my first ride but each of these guys helped me through each stage, I would highly recommend the team at Ornsby, I’ve come away today with my basic handling certificate and so much knowledge he help me on my new bike journey and I will definitely be back for the team to help me reach my full licence.

I attended a Gold Ride Forever course in November 2023, Wayne was the Instructor for the day. After an engaging workshop ( approx 2 hours) where we covered a range of safety and riding areas, we set off on a 360km ride. The class was full which equates to 6 riders plus the Instructor. We covered a range of disciplines and there is always something to learn/take away with you. Value is without question a total bargain (thank you ACC) but the true value is a full day focussing on your awareness and technique. Wayne was clear and has a great ability to engage with people, I recommend everyone doing at least 1 of these a year for as long as they are available. Thanks to Wayne, Dan and Hollie for what you do within this community.

Absolutely recommend - courses informative and have made me a better rider. Also done license through them and would recommend paying the extra for pretest ride.

had a great day out upskilling and ironing out bad habits picked up from years of riding [we all have them]its good to have someone giving real time advice as you go for an everyday ride on public roadslearning in the same environment as you will be riding in is a huge advantage

I was stoked with the basic handling training that Matt took me through recently. I came in with my dirt bike "goggles" on, and Matt took what bad habits I had developed, turned em around, and churned me out as a more well rounded and safer rider. Thanks mate.

Had an awesome time on the ride forever bronze course, while it was obvious that all on the course could ride Motorcycles we all learnt something on the course to help make us better riders and less chance of becoming a statistic. 10/10 can't wait to.sit my restricted and then the silver course.

Completed a first time rider lesson and the BHST with Matt. Both sessions were very enjoyable and informative. Matt is excellent at explaining everything he is very patient and friendly.

Done my BHST with Matt and he was an absolute gem! Such a patient, good teacher with great tips and never made me feel like I couldn’t do any of the manoeuvres even when I made silly mistakes. Couldn’t recommend more.

There are not enough stars on here to give Ornsby Motorcycle Training their due! I have had a fanatastic experience, firstly with the Bronze Ride Forever course, then my restricted licence, then the Silver course and now my full licence. As a retunring rider with 30 years off the bike, I could not have had a better experience. Thank you so much Hollie, Dan and Wayne, I will be back for the Gold course soon!

Thanks to the training from the team at Ornsby Motorcycle's, especially Hank who’s been an incredibly patient trainer, I'm now on my restricted licence. I was rather nervous learning to ride in my 40’s and needed support to gain confidence and become a safe rider. I started with basic handling skills & one on one training with Hank, a cornering course with Dan, the Bronze Ride Forever with Clive, followed by more one on one training with Hank before moving to my restricted. It might seem like a lot, but it was money and time well spent. If these guys can get me onto my restricted, they can help anyone! I nearly gave up, but I’m so glad I didn’t. For me the key to gaining confidence was the one-on-one training with Hank, it was great to learn simple tips that make a huge difference to my riding, and my safety! All the other training clicked after that! I’m now one happy biker chick! Thank you so much to the whole team 😊 PS Hollie, you're great too!

I highly recommend this place to get your basic handling test. Costumer service is very good they will tell you anything that you need to know etc. The instructor who was appointed to me was nice and very knowledgeable tells you everything you and properly equipped you. Great experience overall.

What a fantastic team of people to deal with. I have been fortunate enough to complete the whole process from no licence to 6F in just over 13 months. Nothing was ever a problem and the feedback after each and every course was invaluable in helping me pass the 6F at my first attempt. Thanks team, already looking for my next course.

I have enjoyed four excellent Ride Forever courses with Dan and Hollie Ornsby’s organization. They have taken particular care in the vetting, selection and training of their instructors. I’ve been lucky enough to learn and finesse vital riding skills and strategies with Wānaka based Simon and Invercargill based Eddie; both of whom boast tremendous experience, knowledge and patience. I’ve even been lucky enough to ride with Dan when he schooled a few of us in the dark arts of metal road riding … amazing what a man will do for a meat pie.I could not recommend Ornsby more to those who wish to take full advantage of superb Ride Forever programmes prepared by ACC and partners.

Just completed my CBTA 6R with OMT and Wayne as my assessor. Highly recommend them both! Wayne was very friendly and genuine, and his passion for safe riding was evident throughout the session. He was impartial and left me with some great feedback and things to work on. I highly recommend OMT and Wayne for anyone looking to improve their riding skills!

Just completed the Ride Forever Bronze Course - this has equipped me for both the CBTA 6R assessment and a lifetime of safe riding. Clive is super knowledgeable, an excellent communicator, and has a great sense of humour. Highly recommend both the course and instructor. 👍

Thanks Dan and team for really putting the effort in during my basic handling test. I left having learnt a lot and Dan's good humor and light touch approach were just right for me. Got my theory sorted today and felt much more confident riding my new bike. Looking forward to going on Ornsby's bronze ride forever course next.

Completed the Silver Rideforever course with Eddie. A great guy and he couldn't have been more helpful. I have ridden on and off over 40 years but never went as far as getting my license. I never realized how many bad ridding habits I had. I certainly wouldn't have passed the test if I hadn't done the course. Such a great program by ACC and run by the correct people. Awesome

Awesome teaching from Eddie, super patient and always there to provide feedback and helped me feel comfortable on the bike. As a result I was able to pass my basic handling skills test. Definitely going through Eddie for any future courses I do!

Found the instructor to be extremely patient and thorough and bike supplied was meticulously prepared. However the course was just too small and not representative of real life, I struggled with it to the point I will not progress my motor cycle license. Which is just a renewal as I have had several bikes.

Great company to train with! Eddie is awesome to deal with. I will return for further training.

I am a late ( very late ) starter to motorbike riding and Eddie has patiently taken me through the various stages to the point where I feel confident enough to keep myself and other road users safe. I have no doubt at all that I would have been an accident waiting to happen if I hadn't undertaken these programs.
