EDDIE GILLILAND

Eddie provides beginner-to-advanced level training and all licensing services, from taking your motorcycle learners test to getting your full licence. He brings a lifetime of riding experience to his role and has seen many fallen riders who have learnt the hard way. He also has his story to tell.

A WORD FROM EDDIE:

If you ride bikes, you have an interest. If you think of nothing but bikes, then you’re a little crazy. But if you love bikes, then you truly have a problem. Have all of these, then you’re as passionate as I am! I have four amazing children, two boys and two girls, three of which also love riding. I’ve been married for over 30 years to a very incredible, understanding wife when it comes to motorcycles. I didn’t become a motorcycle trainer and assessor because it was a job; I do this because of all the fallen riders I have known in my 45 years of riding—and there have been too many. We are all here to help you get your motorcycle licence in Invercargill, empowering you to enjoy decades of safe riding, as I now enjoy. A decade ago, I lay in a hospital bed for months, recovering from a traumatic motorcycle accident, followed by years of recovery. We all say, “It won’t happen to me,” but when it does, it’s all too late. My name is Eddie Gilliland. Help me help you ride forever.

HOW MUCH DO MOTORCYCLE LESSONS COST IN SOUTHLAND?

OMT offers competitive pricing for motorcycle training in Invercargill at various levels to meet your needs. The cost of your lessons will depend on your chosen course. For example, our one-on-one Learn to Ride sessions are just $250, giving you personalised attention as you master the basics.

For your restricted licence, the CBTA 6R assessment is just $210, or $435 if you want an hour and a half of practice time included. You’ll be able to see training prices when you book your session.

WHERE DOES THE TRAINING TAKE PLACE?

Our mobile unit is based in Invercargill and services the surrounding area. Our on-road motorcycle training in Southland uses carefully chosen training routes to give you experience with Invercargill’s road conditions and traffic patterns.
