Excellent course!! Wayne was great as an instructor!! Very knowledgeable and was very quick to understand the riding level of each rider!! He precisely worked on improving the riding skills of each rider depending on what he thought each one was weak it. That takes years of experience to understand. It was an inhomogeneous group with different riding experiences and skills. He was right on the ball for each one of us.it was a group course but the teaching was individually tailored. He specifically tailored his teaching to each individuals needs. Pointing out how to improve their weaknesses and helping them improve on those. Pushing each one of us just beyond our limits without putting us in harms way. This is what helps in the real world.Fantastic experience of learning to corner in wet conditions, emergency breaking in wet conditions, doing a U turn in wet conditions. I found it a great experience to learn from. I would highly recommend it to anyone trying to improve their skill set. This course is something essential the keep the rubber in contact with road and the shinny side up!! Thanks a ton Wayne and Ornsby!! Just waiting to do the silver course after 3 months!! Ride safe ya all. Enjoy the ride and don’t be a statistic!!

Recently completed my BSHT with Matt, and it was brilliant. Really good instruction and guidance throughout the lesson and assessment. Highly recommend to anyone looking to learn to ride and get on the road.

Absolutely amazing, Joanne was an absolute doll. Made everything super easy and clean. Took all the stress and weight off my shoulders, will have her voice saying left of cone in my head for a while. Will be going back for the rest of my licensing. Thankyou again.

Alan was so helpful with my practice and BHST worked with me very patiently and helped me understand what was required to pass the test. (which I did thanks to Alan)

I recently completed my Motorcycle Basic Handling Skills session, and I’m stoked to say I passed! Big shout-out to my instructor, Steve, who made the whole experience smooth, clear, and confidence-building.

Steve explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, kept the vibes relaxed, and gave solid tips that genuinely improved my riding. His patience and focus on safety helped me feel comfortable throughout the entire session. Every drill, from slow-speed control to emergency braking, felt well-guided and purposeful.

I walked in nervous but left confident — and that’s all thanks to Steve’s teaching style and professionalism. If anyone is looking to start their motorcycle journey, I definitely recommend training with him.

Proud to say I passed — and even more excited to get out on the road!

Absolutely loved my time over the two days!
Half day track training with Hank was loads of fun, he was super informative, had some great tips and suggestions… we all improved massively as the day went on. And a full day the following day in the B and C group was a blast! Great culture amongst all the riders and very welcoming to a first timer at Ruapuna. The Ornsby team are very accommodating and professional, i particularly enjoyed Chris’s chats and the suspension help! Top bloke, i hope he makes regular appearance at the track days as well as Wayne who was super friendly and helpful!! All the trainers and team had some gems of advice over the two days that they were more than happy to share!!
Just a word of warning… you might get addicted 😁👍

Absolutely recommend - courses informative and have made me a better rider. Also done license through them and would recommend paying the extra for pretest ride.
As an update- Just completed Silver Ride Forever course with Wayne- awesome day and he is an amazing instructor. Absolutely worth doing!

I had the pleasure of meeting Dan at Ornsby Motorcycle T&C as I needed to sit my BHST.
I opted for the two hour option allowing for some time to familiarize myself with the bike. Dan was pleasant, patient, clear and concise throughout the practice and the test.

I had two lessons at Ornsby with Wayne and Allan, and was able to sit and pass my Basic Handling Skills Test at the conclusion of my second lesson.

I came in with zero motorcycle/clutch experience and the guys got me up to speed and helped me build confidence in no time. I would highly recommend Ornsby if you’re looking to get licensed or want to build your foundational skills.

I’ll definitely be back for a Ride Forever course once I’m comfortable on my own bike!

Once again, a pleasure to spend a day with people who want to learn and a straight shooter keen to teach. I learnt a lot and came away with stuff to work on.

I recently completed a Bronze Ride Forever course here. The course was brilliant and far, far more beneficial than I thought it would be. I had the pleasure of having the superstar Jo as the instructor for the day. I can’t speak highly enough of her and her execution of the training. Her passion for riding motorbikes comes shinning through with her enthusiasm and effective style of teaching. She spent the time getting to know us and understanding our experience and what we were looking to get out of the day. She took this all on board and catered our day around this. The day was a real confidence booster and gave me a lot of new information and skills to keep practicing. As I am practicing post the course, I can still hear Jo’s words of advice and encouragement! My riding has certainly improved since attending the course. I’m super grateful to Ornsby Motorcycle Training for providing this course and especially Jo for the amazing execution of it. I am looking forward to a one-on-one training session in the near future with Jo and doing the CBTA 6R. 10/10 recommend anyone considering to do this to go lock it in!

I did my Ride Forever Bronze course, it was a great day, I learned a lot. I would defiantly recommend this course to improve your riding skills.

Had a bronze ride forever course on Saturday. With some lovely chch weather (wet and 11 Degrees) our group of 6 worked its way down to 2. Jo was amazing, not abrupt, but firm & consistent in saying what we could improve on. Amazing experience even in the wet!!!

Went in to have a one-on-one two hour training session as I hadn't been in the riding seat for about three years. Walked out with my BHST! Steve was absolutely phenomenal. Great sense of humour, made me feel super at ease and confident. He wasn't afraid to hold me accountable when I made silly mistakes, which is exactly what I needed as he could pin point the moments I started overthinking things. He had a great way about him, the session was relaxed, covered all the basics, and when watching back the videos my friend took I hear myself laughing most of the time. Great fun, and Steve was a big part of that. Ornsby better watch out though as I'm devising a plan to steal that blue GN!

Dan and the team at OMT are awesome, the training is fantastic and I highly recommend that all riders book in with them for a course that suits their ability. Whatever your skill level is, there is always something to learn

Have to admit I was quite nervous, but Stephen really made the whole BHST a breeze, he was kind, and patient with his instructions and provided plenty of great little snippets of life experience along the way. Highly recommend.

Can't stress enough just how good Jo is. Absolute superstar with a wealth of knowledge and plenty of jokes to follow 10/10 would do my BHST again 🙂

Jo Woodrow is freaking AMAZING!!! We need more instructors like her—she’s an absolute gem! She made me feel so comfortable, hyped me up the whole time, and even found my ‘annoyingness’ adorable, haha! Seriously, the best energy ever—10/10, LEGEND! Would love to do it over and over again just so I can do a group ride with her haha😂

I attended a Silver Ride Forever course, after 40+ years of not owning a motorcycle. I was really impressed with Jo, the trainer, and the range of issues and skills covered. The urban and open road riding and the review of specific skills to improve was excellent. Highly recommended!

Went and did the Basic Handling Test including the practice last week.

Had Matt as my instructor and can I say it was an great experience. I had gone in to practice knowing only basic skills on how to ride a bike but ended up learning an incredible amount on how to drive safely and properly.

Matt was awesome to deal with - super patient, very informative and knowledgeable making me come out on the other end feeling far more experienced than prior to my lesson and test, he definitely helped me become far more confident on a bike.

Couldn’t recommend Ornsby more, if I could give them 6 stars I would.

I had my BHST with Jo W today. She was fantastic. Extremely passionate, energetic and knowledgeable. Put me at ease and took me through tips and tricks and shared her own experiences which were relatable to the skill I was learning. Would definitely recommend to anyone at all skill levels.

I have to say i throughly enjoyed my training , I was very nervous Eddie made me feel relaxed and confident with clear easy to understand instructions I would totally recommend anyone wanting to learn to ride a motorbike or even those that have been riding for years would be very surprised at what you can actually learn definitely worth doing this course you will not be disappointed and worth every cent 😀

Very good 1 on 1 training with Dan and also bronze ride forever course.
Without the training I would be a much more unsafe rider.
Get told alot that you wouldn't notice if you only drive cars or like me have ridden off road.

I had the BEST training with Steve at the Christchurch training facility💕💕💕 He was really helpful, explained everything really well. Was patient with me when i had clutch issues and a genuinely nice guy. It was easier than i expected to do my first ride and once i got into third gear it was so much fun. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!!!

Bronze Course: Excellent Training from seasoned instructors. Definitely recommend taking one of their courses to iron out any bad habits. I'll be back for the Silver course as soon as I can.

Silver Course: Took the Silver course with Wayne, and had a fantastic day once again. Excellent to get new tips (& correct old habits) from someone so passionate and personable. I'll be back for the Gold in a few months.

Back on a bike after 3 decades away. I'd fully recommend the ACC Live to Ride course with Ornsby (or any other school) if you don't want to become a statistic. Wayne was fun, informative and practical, adapted his style to suit the group which had a 40 year age range and ensured we all learnt heaps.

Did a Urban Riders Course (URC) with Peter Daly one of Dan Ormby's senior instructors a couple of years ago & it was highly instructional just to see these experts impart their knowledge in a lucid & very meaningful manner. Only 4 stars awarded as I would have liked to have seen the AV presentation done in a more suitable surrounding and some briefing notes provided as memory joggers for learners to take away with them. Other than that this course highly recommended for urban Riders who face over the odds safety challenges. Am about to undertake my 2nd URC with this org and am very much looking forward to it.

Thrilled to bits with my new license. Jo was superb. I really learnt a lot today about bad habits and safe riding. Definitely recommend these guys and will book in a refresher down the line when I get some wheels.

Having a good time while learning is a great experience.. having a good coach like Jo is a big bonus.

I attended a Silver Ride Forever Course last Tuesday with Wayne as the instructor. I learnt some new techniques and thoroughly enjoyed the way Wayne presented the course. Looking forward to booking a Gold Course next year. Won't go anywhere else.

I recently passed my basic handling skills test with Ornsby under the instruction of Jo. I found the whole process very enjoyable. Jo was brilliant to deal with and done well at calming my nerves and also helping me progress and correct me during the practice part of the session and answered every one of my questions in a very informative and respectful way. I will be booking my remaining license testing and ACC training through Ornsby without a doubt!!

I thoroughly enjoyed and benefitted from Eddie’s style of coaching. He explained and demonstrated things so well and was incredibly patient and structured in his approach. My journey of getting my bhst certification was amazing and it couldn't have been better with the help of Eddie! I was starting from the very start and he explained everything to each detail and showed me how to get moving within minutes, I recently passed my bhst and can't wait to come back!

its good to have someone giving real time advice as you go for an everyday ride on public roads
learning in the same environment as you will be riding in is a huge advantage

I was stoked with the basic handling training that Matt took me through recently. I came in with my dirt bike "goggles" on, and Matt took what bad habits I had developed, turned em around, and churned me out as a more well rounded and safer rider. Thanks mate.

Awesome teaching from Eddie, super patient and always there to provide feedback and helped me feel comfortable on the bike. As a result I was able to pass my basic handling skills test. Definitely going through Eddie for any future courses I do!

Found the instructor to be extremely patient and thorough and bike supplied was meticulously prepared. However the course was just too small and not representative of real life, I struggled with it to the point I will not progress my motor cycle license. Which is just a renewal as I have had several bikes.

Great company to train with! Eddie is awesome to deal with. I will return for further training.

Eddie was nice guy and easy to get along with. His passion for motorbikes was obvious with his care and patience towards learner rider( my son) I was very happy with results and although I think the MOT needs to revise rules and tests for motorcycle learners I’m greatful to Eddie and Ornsby motorcycle training for getting my son on his way towards full motorcycle licence.

I have no hesitation in supporting the Ornsby Training programs. I am a late ( very late ) starter to motorbike riding and Eddie has patiently taken me through the various stages to the point where I feel confident enough to keep myself and other road users safe. I have no doubt at all that I would have been an accident waiting to happen if I hadn't undertaken these programs.
